This hotel was a great and affordable stay for anyone who is between flights and wants to spend some time on the beach or anyone looking to get away to manhattan beach. It is about a mile from the manhattan pier with good shops and food around it (highly recommend salt and straw ice cream ). I felt very safe walking around this area anytime of the day/night! Otherwise if you are looking to visit Santa Monica Pier it is about a 11 mile bike ride and the hotel offers free rental bikes. We did this and would totally recommend, it was a super nice and easy bike. They also provide a lock so you can lock it to the stairs near the pier/beach. I want to specifically acknowledge the staff member Tequilla for going above and beyond for me when I lost an item and even spending her own personal money to mail it to me. She definitely made me smile as you could tell she is a genuine caring individual. Overall would recommend this stay, great staff, location, and service. Would definitely return if I end up back in LA again!

We visited from New York for a friend’s birthday celebration and were familiar with the area so knew this was the perfect spot. Eddie at the front desk was always there to help and super nice. A small boutique hotel feel right in the heart of Manhattan Beach with a 20 minute walk to all the great local shops. The beach is right down the block and you have a ton of choices for lovely places to eat within steps outside the hotel. The Local Yolk, Café Wild, Sloopy’s and Beach Pizza and OB’s Pub to name a few. Sushi too. The pool was right outside our door and well maintained. The rooms have been updated and are well appointed with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker with fresh coffee grinds to make a perfect cup. While we were here off season (January) the rates were reasonable and we lucked out with perfect weather being the 70s (F) the whole time we were here. Highly recommend when visiting Manhattan Beach. Bonus, if you like dogs, you’ll see one at every turn.

This is my all time go to hotel in Manhatten beach. Noe is the gentleman who works the front desk and does it well. He will always be willing to answer any questions about MB, offer you towels, chairs, sand toys for the beach, and go out of his way to make your stay in this cozy hotel an experience of a life time. Noe your the best!

Love this place! Me and my bros do an annual trip here every year. Fantastic location just steps away from the beach. Free bike rentals too. Rooms are a bit older, but have lots of charm. Highly recommend

The location for it is pretty and very convienent for people who want to be right there on the beach. However there were issues. We had the penthouse which gave us the view of the ocean which was nice. However, the rooms had problems, wooden floors uplifted from water damage and when it rained water tended to come under the doors and flood the living room. The shower handle was weird as it had to be centered in order to turn off, too much to the left and itll still run despite it not being anywhere near the hot/cold area on the valve. The bath was nice though it is a hazard. They placed the tub high up, Im guessing on a slab thats about three-four feet high which makes the tub tall. You have to climb up into it and coming out requires scaling down the side in order to not slip and fall out. We had to use a chair from the desk to get out without endangering ourselves. Walls are very thin as well, you can hear people cough from next door or closing their cabinets. We also had flushing issues, the toilet didnt have enough flushing power and their toilet paper would clog the toilet. Just us going pee would clog the toilet because it just wouldnt flush. Room service didnt properly clean up before us arriving, the utensils from the kitchen were missing and we had to order plastic kitchenware to eat and drink. They also make you pay $25 for parking PER night. You'd think it wouldve came with the penthouse but it didnt. It was also the most expensive parking we encountered, even more than San Diego and Disneyland parking! They didnt tell us when we booked about the parking fee until we checked in. The spots for parking are in a small lot which you have to walk uphill to get to the rooms or try to squeeze your car into the small parking space by the rooms in the back alleys which not even our small honda could do. There weren't any elevators at all so we had to carry luggage from the lot, uphill, up the stairs to the building and then another stairs to get to the penthouse. All in all, the penthouse is not even worth the price as it was less fancy than the suite we got in Vegas and more damaged. Might give the place another chance if they are able to fix up the place a bit, which they should be able to considering they made us pay basically for a whole other room with the parking fees. Might not get the penthouse again as it isnt any more different from a regular hotel suite, nothing fancier like you would expect a penthouse to be.

This place is a gem. It's simple and feels like it's out of a 70's Tarantino movie. You get an actual key and everything! It's simple but clean and located a very short walk from the beach. Tons of eateries and bars nearby, and the main Manhattan beach stores are a 25 minute walk. All the people were super helpful, it was easy to get in/out. A gem. Duke
